Fruit Smoothie Recipes

Strawberry & Banana Smoothie
This quick strawberry & banana smoothie serves two people. Double the recipe if needed.

• 6 large strawberries
• 2 medium ripe bananas
• 450ml milk
• 2 tbsp. vanilla yoghurt
• 2 tsp. honey
• 12 large ice cubes

How to Prepare:
1. Chop the strawberries and the bananas into small chunks. Blend in the smoothie maker, then add the milk, yoghurt and honey and blend again until smooth.
2. Add the ice and then blitz until smooth. Pour into two glasses to serve.

Very Berry Smoothie
This berry smoothie makes use of frozen fruit, meaning you don’t even need to add ice cubes.

• 250g frozen mixed berries
• 100ml milk
• 100ml orange juice
• 4 tbsp. wheatgerm (if required)

How to Prepare:
1. Blend together the milk and orange juice in the smoothie maker. Add the berries and blitz until smooth.
2. Either stir in the wheatgerm and leave the smoothie as it is, or add the wheatgerm to the blender and blitz very briefly until smooth. Recipe serves 2.

Rum & Pumpkin Smoothie
This smoothie makes use of ready-made pumpkin puree to create a beautifully spiced smoothie that tastes just like pumpkin pie with a spot of rum. Recipe serves 1.

• 125g vanilla ice cream
• 125g crushed ice
• 2 tbsp. double cream
• 2 tbsp. spiced rum
• 1 tbsp. pumpkin puree
• ½ tsp. ground cinnamon

How to Prepare:
1. Combine the ice cream, cream, rum, puree and cinnamon in your smoothie maker. Blend until smooth and then add the ice. Blend again until smooth.
2. If you want to, garnish the smoothie with some whipped cream.

Tropical Smoothie
This lovely tropical smoothie is made with pineapple juice, bananas and kiwi fruits. If you would prefer a creamier smoothie, use ice cream instead of ice cubes. Recipe serves 2.

• 225ml orange juice
• 100ml pineapple juice
• 12 ice cubes
• 3 bananas
• 2 kiwi fruits
• 4 pineapple rings or equal fresh chopped pineapple

How to Prepare:
1. Peel and de-seed the kiwi fruits. Chop the bananas and the kiwi, and chop the pineapple rings.
2. Place the fruit into the smoothie maker and blend until smooth.
3. Add the orange juice and pineapple juice and blend until smooth.
4. Add the ice cubes and blend once more until smooth.

Melon Smoothie
This very simple melon smoothie is utterly delicious – add milk or juice if the consistency is a little thick.

• 1 cantaloupe melon
• 12 ice cubes
• 2 tbsp. brown sugar or honey

How to Prepare:
1. Peel the melon and remove the seeds before chopping into chunks.
2. Place into the smoothie maker and blitz until smooth and then add the brown sugar and blend once more.
3. Add the ice and blend until smooth, then pour into two glasses.
